GIRR layout diagram The GIRR is a folded dog bone with one loop inside and above the other. Near the lower left there is a long passing siding with a wye in the middle so that even fairly long trains can be turned without fouling the main line. A branch line extends to a storage yard in the garage which duplicates the capacity of the main yard so that entire trains can be taken out and put away in minutes. Another loop surrounds a town and industrial site.
