Great!! I make severed limbs and heads out of
latex and was getting furious tonight when I tried to paint acrylics by
thinning them down with water. Looks like I need to get the proper
thinner, at least you saved me a few hours of frustration!
Thanks!

George,
I have a question for you about the SD 45 lighting diagram you have in the Aristo SD45 Tips article. The diagram shows the black (ground) wire from the front marker lights connecting to white (voltage in) and the orange (front porch) connecting to black (ground). Is this correct or should that be reversed orange to white and black to black? The article is very full of helpful info. It has answered many questions I had. I am in the process of putting DCC in my SD45. After reading your article I think I have enough information to proceed. I will not be using the plug in decoder (Digitrax DG583AR) I will be using AirWire 900. That means some wire cutting will be needed. Your article has been very helpful in that respect. Thanks, Bob |

George, GREAT to have you back and active again!
I am retiring at the end of November this year. My outdoor layout also
suffered from several years of neglect and I pulled it all. I may
rebuild an elevated RR this time around. The indoor layout gives me all
winter to play but I miss the outdoors experience.
Nice to see you making such huge progress. Andre' |

I have just installed track in the yard, and
would like to convert my engine to battery powere. I have then 10amp
version of the Aristo engineer. What would be the best battery set up
to run the train an hour or so? I was looking at three sealed lead acid
6 volt 7amp batteries wired in series, but the weight seemed excessive.
Do you have any suggestions?

I've been toying with the idea of building a
fairly simple switchback layout. I thought about building it outside,
but then figured out a way to build something above a portion of my
large HO gauge system. Oddly enough I think I can run my HO gauge track
under and in front of my G gauge switchback and it will look
interesting rather than unnatural. The shots of your indoor layout were
very helpful for me in visualizing things. I will probably build one
large smelter structure and leave it at that. It is a easier to cover
up blunders in HO than in G.
